Yemi Fagbohun, award-winning international artist, in collaboration with TGP Gives, AARCH Society, Frederick Lifestyle, Boys & Girls Club of Frederick County, and the Weinberg Center presents the 3rd Annual African Americans of Excellence (AAOE) Exhibit 2025, a multi-media exhibit showcasing the contributions of African Americans in Frederick County—legacy leaders who have courageously, humbly and significantly contributed to positive, transformative work over multiple decades to create and provide a beautiful community and brighter future for us all.

The Honorees for 2025:

  • Scott Ambush
  • Kavonte Duckett
  • Earl Robbins
  • Dr. Denise Rollins
  • Gayon Sampson
  • Dr. Renee Thomas-Spencer
  • Theresa Williams-Harrison

Each honoree was captured by a local artist, photographer and videographer and the Exhibit Kick Off will feature the unveiling of each of the projects, an introduction to each of the contributors and remarks from each of the honorees. Eight local students also participated in a one day artist workshop conducted by Yemi at the Boys and Girls Club of Frederick County and their art will be on display as well. All of the artwork will be on display at Warehouse Cinemas for the month of February and available for auction on March 5th with the proceeds to benefit the organization. The evening will be hosted by emcee Jarad Bowens.

Support the Weinberg

The Weinberg Center is an institution of value to Frederick. It is a vital part of the economic life of Downtown Frederick, attracting more than 85,000 patrons annually who visit shops, restaurants, and local stores. Furthermore, the Weinberg provides educational programs to over 8,000 Frederick county school children each year. And the Weinberg continues to bring world-class performing artists to the heart of downtown Frederick for our community to enjoy. We are committed to keeping ticket prices affordable for our community. So to cover the costs of the arts we present, the Weinberg — like theaters nationally — must find other sources of support. Please consider making a contribution to this historic theater.
